Seattle City of Music Awards Honors Local Musicians October 6th @seattlefm #seattle


 
Second Annual City of Music Awards: Wednesday, October 6, 2010, The Showbox at the Market, Doors open at 7:00 p.m.
Honoring: Gerard Schwarz - Outstanding Achievement Award, Clarence Acox and Scott Brown - Impact Award, Brandi Carlile - Breakthrough Award

The Seattle City of Music Commission will honor musicians Brandi Carlile, Clarence Acox and Scott Brown, and Gerard Schwarz at the Second Annual City of Music Awards on Wednesday, October 6, 2010.

The City of Music Awards will feature an awards ceremony with special performances by Northern Departure & M.O.V. from Seattle Theatre Group's More Music @ The Moore; a Garfield and Roosevelt High School All-Star Jazz collaboration playing in honor of Acox and Brown; a Big Brass Tribute to Gerard Schwarz; and a special pre-recorded live video performance by Brandi Carlile. All awards recipients were selected by the 21-member Seattle Music Commission.

The City of Music Awards is part of the 12-year Seattle City of Music Initiative. The Initiative's goal is to create action that enhances the climate for Seattle's music industry and propels Seattle's leadership role in music throughout the nation and the world.
