MAYOR MIKE MCGINN WILL BE INTRODUCING 21-MEMBER MUSIC COMMISSION MONDAY
Seattle is the City of Music, and on Monday, June 14 at 12:00 pm at City Hall, Mayor Mike McGinn will host a press conference to formally introduce the newly appointed 21-member Seattle Music Commission. This new commission will help set a path forward to strengthen and grow Seattle’s thriving music community for the next decade. The commission is made up of a diverse group of community, business and industry leaders who are all actively engaged in supporting, promoting, expanding and encouraging Seattle’s vibrant culture of music. The Music Commission was formed as part of Seattle’s City of Music Initiative and will serve as an ongoing City of Seattle body. The appointees represent a cross section of the music sector to advance the City of Music vision in the larger community, and to provide guidance and direction to the City of Seattle regarding its leadership and support of music. At the press conference Mayor McGinn will introduce each member of the commission as well as define the commission’s vital role in supporting Seattle’s vibrant and growing music culture and industry.
