Edward P. Pierson is a Seattle entertainment lawyer who is also an
Adjunct Professor of Law at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles
California where he has been teaching entertainment law for 20 years
and a co-author of the casebook "Law and Business of the Entertainment
Industries”. He was the Executive Vice President Legal and Business Affairs and
General Counsel of Warner/Chappell Music from 2000 to 2008 in a role
that expanded his duties as the chief legal counsel of the music
publishing company he joined in 1989. Widely used in law schools
across the country and published in its Fifth Edition by Praeger
Publishers, the casebook "Law and Business of the Entertainment
Industries" has been co-authored by Edward from its inception over
twenty years ago. A Phi Beta Kappa honor graduate of the University of Denver (BA,
1975), he earned his law degree from the University of Denver College
of Law (JD, 1977). Edward is an active member of the Washington Bar and Colorado Bar.
